Luna Care Services started caring for my mum in early 2020.
Unbeknown to us at the time, we were about to meet a bunch of people who would change everything for my mum and the rest of the family.
Jake, Alison, Rita, and Jordan could not have helped us anymore than they did.
There were others also but whoever came to see my mum were always kind and caring as well as being very professional. They always had my mum’s best interests at heart and treated her with the respect she deserved. Nothing was too much trouble, all through lockdown they were professional with a personal touch. My mum, who has dementia, would see someone 3 times a day, every day.
Although she was wary at the beginning, she came to look forward to her visits. It wasn’t just about care, they became friends. I know when you talk about care, you will automatically think of the person who is being cared for. When the care is right, which it was with Luna, it has a knock-on effect for the whole family.
I was at my wits end, trying to balance caring for my mum, with the rest of my life. I am not too proud to say that I was struggling and falling into depression. I had long conversations with Jake and Alison, mainly they listened, which is all I needed. I cannot thank them enough for their support.
I think if Luna hadn’t come along when they did, my mum wouldn’t be with us now. The people I met from Luna weren’t just carers, we laughed together, put the worlds to right, shared a coffee, cake and a bacon roll most mornings, but my mum was always put at the centre of things. That doesn’t happen very often, you might come across the odd person in a company who goes above and beyond, at Luna they are all like that.
I would recommend their services to anyone who needs it. My whole family would like to say thank you and as soon as I can, I will be dropping a cake into their offices.
A personal message to Jake, thank you for everything you did for me. I was drowning when you came along, you took control from day 1 and changed everything. I cannot thank you enough.
